Remington College’s Database Management and Administration degree program covers a range of fundamental skills and training in data organization, storage, integration and analysis. Over the course of the program, students will study the ins and outs of database management systems while using industry-relevant programs and technology.
Database administrators may find employment in a variety of workplace environments, including small businesses and large corporate firms. Duties often include database security, installation and configuration; user creation and maintenance; backups and recovery; reporting and querying; installation and configuration; and performance optimization.
Graduates may pursue entry-level careers in IT, data management, data security, database design, database management, data mapping, and object-oriented programming. Many industries anticipate an increased need for qualified workers in this growing field over the next decade and beyond

The Database Management and Administration program prepares students to enter an exciting field with skills to support the data needs of small to large organizations. Students will be trained in organization, storage, integration, retrieval and analysis of data. This program also includes training in database designing, building, managing, system troubleshooting and report generation. Students are introduced to the role requirements of database administrators, the internal structures and architectures of database management systems, the implementation of data security and integrity measures, and the assessment of data usage and availability on the web and within internal business systems. Students will be trained on how to utilize standard business principles to perform database applications, enhance the practices of the company or organization to remain competitive in a technology driven economy.
